Fiction Archive add-on
Fiction Archive Series Tools
Series ordering and display controls built on Core’s existing Book Series taxonomy, Book number and Story Order values.
Add controlled Series presentation
Series Tools uses the Series terms and Works already owned by Fiction Archive Core. It does not create a second Series taxonomy or duplicate the Work.
Its main public function is ordering the Book Series archive by Book number and adding optional Series details to supported cards.
At a glance
- Requires Fiction Archive Core in practice
- Uses the existing Series taxonomy
- Orders main Series archives
- Optional card labels
- Two public shortcodes
- No separate Series database
Main capabilities
Series archive order
Place numbered Works first, ordered by Book number, with unnumbered Works afterwards.
Series labels
Add the Series name and optional Book number to supported archive cards.
Linked Series names
Link the displayed Series name to its public Series archive.
Per-item control
Hide automatic Series details for an individual Fiction Piece.
Manual shortcodes
Place Series labels deliberately where automatic card integration is unsuitable.
Shared Core fields
Use Core Book number, Story Order and Series assignments rather than parallel values.
A focused display and ordering add-on
Series Tools does not build a visual Series organiser, create Series landing pages or replace the Series features already available in Core.
- Assign Series terms and Book numbers in Core.
- Use matching values where Core and Series Tools show the same shared field.
- Keep a complete site backup for add-on-only settings.
