AI Resources

Not everything I develop needs to become a large product or WordPress plugin.

Some ideas work better as smaller tools, prompts, workflows, GPTs or project systems. AI Resources is where I keep the ones that are useful enough to share.

Some can be used directly. Others are examples of how I have structured a particular task or problem.

Resources

Different ways of working with AI

AI is useful for more than generating an answer to a prompt.

A good result may depend on the instructions, source material, workflow, checks and decisions around it.

The resources here range from small individual prompts to systems involving several stages and different types of information.

They are grouped by what they are rather than by trying to make everything look like a product.

Tools

Tools are things that can be used directly for a particular job.

They may be small web-based systems, checking tools or utilities developed from something I originally needed for my own work.

Prose Check is one example.

Other tools may deal with prompts, AI output, content, requirements or particular parts of the development process.

Prompts

Some jobs only need a well-structured prompt.

The prompts here are ones I have developed for specific purposes rather than generic collections of things to ask an AI.

Where useful, each prompt can include what it is for, the prompt itself, what information needs to be supplied, important limitations and notes on how I use it.

A prompt may later develop into a larger workflow or tool if the job becomes more complicated.

Resource type: Prompt

Workflows

A workflow combines several parts of a task into a repeatable process.

That may include prompts, project instructions, source files, research, checking stages or separate outputs.

I use workflows when one prompt is not enough or when the same type of work needs to be repeated without starting again each time.

Some of the workflows published here may be complete systems. Others may concentrate on one useful part of a larger process.

Resource type: Workflow

GPTs

I may also publish GPTs created for particular jobs.

These can package instructions, knowledge and a defined purpose into something that is easier to use repeatedly.

Where a GPT is available, its page should explain what it is designed to do rather than simply linking to it without context.

The resource page can then link to the GPT itself where appropriate.

Resource type: GPT

Projects

Projects are working solutions that are worth showing even when they are not conventional tools or downloadable products.

  • how a problem was defined
  • the requirements that were created
  • the workflow behind it
  • prompts or instructions used
  • how it developed over several versions
  • what worked
  • what had to be changed
  • what the final system became

This gives me somewhere to show the development work behind a product without turning its plugin page into a development diary.

As individual resources are added, each resource can carry its name, type, short description, status where relevant and an action that matches what it actually is.

Development

Resources can change

A small resource may remain small.

It may also become the starting point for something larger.

A prompt can become a workflow. A workflow can become a tool. A working project may eventually become a WordPress plugin.

That development does not need to be forced. The resource can remain in the form that best suits the job.

When something becomes a usable WordPress product, its main product page belongs in Paragraphs Plugins.

WordPress

Resources and Plugins

AI Resources and Plugins have different purposes.

Resources contains tools, prompts, workflows, GPTs and development projects.

Plugins contains WordPress products intended to be installed and used on a WordPress website.

A project may appear in both areas for different reasons. A Development project can explain how a product was planned, tested and refined, while its Plugins page explains what the finished WordPress product does and how to use it.

The Development section covers the wider work behind the products, systems and workflows I build, including requirements, testing, WordPress development and practical notes from the process.
