Paragraphs

Lab

Where I build, test and improve things.

The Lab is the practical side of Paragraphs. It brings together my websites, SEO work, digital projects, AI experiments and the ideas I am trying to turn into something useful.

Some projects are established sites that need regular work. Others are early ideas, tools or experiments that may go nowhere. The Lab gives them somewhere to sit while I work out what they are for and whether they are worth continuing.

Websites with a purpose

Most of the work starts with a website. That might mean building a new one, improving an existing one or changing its direction when the original idea no longer works.

I look at structure, content, navigation, search visibility and how the different parts of a site fit together. The aim is not to keep adding more. It is to make each site clearer and more useful.

SEO and traffic

SEO is part of much of what I do in the Lab. I test page structures, internal linking, schema, content organisation and ways of helping useful pages get found.

This is also where I keep my SEO-focused projects, including SEO Designed, Designer SEO and WTF SEO. They allow me to try different approaches without pretending there is one answer that works for every website.

AI-assisted work

I use AI to help with research, planning, analysis, content ideas, workflows and some of the repetitive work involved in running several websites.

The useful part is not asking AI to do everything. It is finding where it saves time, where it gives me a better starting point and where it gets things wrong.

Some of those experiments become working systems. Others confirm that doing it manually would have been quicker.

Projects in the Lab

Cruisez covers cruise news, information and ideas for people planning or thinking about a cruise.

Cruisegle is a related search and discovery project built around cruise content.

Newsgle explores ways of organising and presenting current news.

Shrd is for short posts, notes, observations and project updates.

SEO Designed, Designer SEO and WTF SEO cover different parts of my SEO work, from practical guidance to testing ideas and questioning some of the nonsense around the subject.

Work in progress

The Lab is not a finished collection of products. It is where I keep practical projects while I build them, change them or decide to stop.

Some may become useful websites or sources of income. Some will remain experiments. The point is to give the work enough structure without making every idea look more important than it is.
